YK-11 appears to be a super-SARM based on the reviews, while in reality, YK-11 is not a typical SARM. WHAT IS YK-11?
- Research has shown that YK-11 inhibits myostatin. It induces muscle cells to make more follistatin which is a strong myostatin inhibitor. Myostatin (also known as growth differentiation factor 8) is a protein produced by muscle cells that act on muscle cells to inhibit myogenesis. Research through the years shows that when you block myostatin, it allows for significantly more muscle mass.
- Initial research by Japanese Researcher, Yuichiro Kanno, in 2011 at Toho University, has shown that YK-11 attaches itself to the androgen receptor and makes muscle cells produce more anabolic factors.
- He also discovered that YK-11 induces the muscle cells to produce more follistatin, which decreases myostatin and increases muscle growth through this mechanism, as well. YK-11 selectively binds to the androgen receptors similarly to LGD-4033 and MK-2866. That is to say, that YK-11 offers great promise as a therapy for muscle wasting illnesses and for promoting very massive muscle gains.
- Much like MK-2866 and LGD-4033, YK-11 binds to the androgen receptors in muscle, and bone. YK-11 has a weak anabolic to androgenic ratio of greater than 25:1. This means that YK-11 is very weakly androgenic and provides anabolic effects while minimizing the negative effects on the prostate and other organs.
- YK-11 appears to be weakly suppressive to the Hypothalamic Pituitary Testicular Axis (HPTA) but far less so than anabolic steroids or prohormones.
- YK-11 users have observed no elevations in estrogen, and decreases sex hormone-binding globulin (which would result in a raised free testosterone, but not total testosterone). WHAT RESULTS TO EXPECT WITH YK-11
- Positive reviews of YK-11 report that it greatly increases muscle mass and its effects are seen in as little as a week. However, these claims are clouded by the fact that people use different dosages, cycle lengths, or stack YK11 with other SARMs.
- Bodybuilders have experimented with YK11 in both bulking and cutting. Allegedly, YK11 is useful in bulking because it builds a lot of lean muscle in a short amount of time. Others have taken advantage of YK11’s ability to burn fat and harden muscles by using it in cutting cycles.
YK-11 SIDE EFFECTS
- YK11 may potentially be toxic to the liver. However, some users reported doing blood tests during cycles of YK11 and initial results didn’t indicate abnormal markers of liver damage. We would recommend using liver support throughout your cycle.
- Mild testosterone suppression has been reported. To be on the safe side, almost all bodybuilding resources recommend post-cycle therapy (PCT) after a cycle of YK11. Common PCTs include Nolvadex (tamoxifen) and Clomid (clomifene).

IS YK-11 A SARM OR A STEROID?
- YK11 is a steroid made by directly altering the chemical structure of DHT. In contrast, all other SARMs have a nonsteroidal structure. YK11 and SARMs work differently in the body and may have different side effects.
- YK-11 has a very unique structure that shares more in common with steroids than it does with SARMs.
- Because this class of drugs is so new, no established naming convention exists. Based on its activity and chemical structure, it may be more appropriate to call YK11 a synthetic steroid rather than a SARM.

YK-11 is often researched for periods of 4-8 weeks. Full PCT is mandatory.
YK-11 DOSAGE
- The most common dosage is 10-15mg/day but is also highly effective at 5mg. Some report doses as high as 30 mg with no side effects.
- The half-life of YK-11 is 6-10 hours so the ideal dosing strategy is to split each daily dose into two. By taking two doses a day, YK11 levels should remain more stable, although there is no clinical evidence to confirm this.
